Consider looking into Automotive Scholarships and Grants

College education can be expensive. If you are a student eager to join the automotive field, scholarships and grants are the easiest way to get there. Even though they can’t cover everything for the whole time you are in college, they greatly reduce the cost of studying. There are several institutions and companies and government agencies that offer automotive scholarships. You can look into them to find one that can accept you. In the automotive industry, learning never stops. Every manufacturer is trying to beat their competitors by coming up with new and advanced technology. With every new production, new students have to be taught how to handle the sophisticated technology.

That means skilled technicians are in demand. Therefore, it is not so hard to find a scholarship in the automotive industry provided you have the passion for learning.

Federal Grant Programs

This is the first thing you should look into if you are interested in learning. You can either seek the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants or the Pell Grants.

The best thing about this grant is that you don’t have to pay back. As long as you complete the course within the given period of 12 semesters, and you finish it successfully, then you get to walk away free with a diploma, certificate, or degree.

Automotive Scholarships

As you go looking for scholarships, you should understand what types of scholarships and grants your school can offer. Sometimes you don’t have to look far. Your school may be offering scholarships to eligible students.

You may look to other organizations as well. It all depends on what you are learning. There are some private organizations and companies ready to give you a scholarship. Here is a list of some of the programs you should look into as you search for the perfect program.

The Monster Scholarship for Trade & Technical Training.

Any student who is either enrolled in or who is interested and is planning to take a course in the trade or technical field can qualify for this scholarship program. Before you can enroll, you are required to write a 250-500 word essay that may determine whether you get the scholarship or not.

Other factors considered include your academics, work experience, and community work. If you meet these requirements, then you can look into this program and apply.

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium Scholarship.

To qualify and apply for this scholarship you have to be enrolled in a National Automotive Technician Education Foundation credited automotive technician program on a full-time basis.

You also have to be a high school senior or at least someone who graduated within the previous two years.

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship

If you are a freshman or and upper-level undergraduate student you can look into this program. As long as you have the interest to study in the automotive disciplines, they can fund your studies. However, you have to have and maintain a 3.0 GPA to qualify for this program.

For students who are financially needy, you can get special treatment especially after you enroll in an accredited university or college.

You may also want to look into other foundations that offer scholarships. Examples are:

• The Bridgestone/Firestone Technical Scholarship. Your GPA is expected to be 2.5 or higher. If you are a special financial needs student, you can get more benefits from this program. This program can fund your quest to get an Automotive Technology Certificate of Completion
• William Burke Student Support Fund
• Military Veterans Support Grants
• Advanced Training Scholarships
• The Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation
• The Automotive Parts and Service Association of Illinois
• The Automotive Service Councils of California Educational Foundation

If you are stuck wondering how you will pay all the tuition fee and other costs related to tertiary education, then you should do more research on the automotive scholarships and grants available in your area.

There are many organizations and government agencies willing to fund you as long as you have the interest to learn. Other automotive companies also have learning programs to train their technicians. You can enroll in such programs and benefit from their scholarships. Such manufacturers include Honda, Chevrolet, and Chrysler, among others. Don’t waste time again. Apply in one of those programs and start learning today.
